Default heel shifter.

Does everybody use theirs?(on bikes that have them) I have a 09 heritage and it just dont feel comfortablabe raising my heel off the board to up shift like that so I ve been just using the front part like a standard shifter, Am I missing something or not doing it right? I just cant get used to it, so just wanted to see what everyone else did.

I took mine off, never used it and my foot would'nt fit between them. You can keep it as a spare in case something happens to the front one.

Never used it, not really sure why it's there. Raised on metrics, that's probably my problem.......I'll never go back

My first Harley I wondered why it was even one there. Someone said just try using it. I did and I wouldn't ride without it. I know why they putt'em on now.

The Road King has one, I never use it. I asked somebody at the local shop about them and he said that it was born from people who hated scuffing the toe of their boot.

I personally think they are dangerous. I wear a sz 14 shoe and my boot is always getting wedged in between the two shifters. Mine is still on there, just to lazy to take it off.

Took me about 5 miles of riding to get used to the first one I had. Now I don't like riding without one.

That at least makes sense but.......are Harley people (politically correct) really that vain? I mean, the big bad dude with tats everywhere looks down at his boot, gets all wanked out of shape 'cause he's got a scuff on his boot??? Almost sounds like a Goldwing thing to me....

Took mine off as soon as the bike got home. Lathed a spline cover and have never looked back.
