Angry Things You Do To Prevent Theft

While we were in Daytona this past week security and theft became an issue. What are some of the things you do to keep your bike safe, whether overnight at a rally, hotel, or just when you stop to grab a bite to eat.

We just try to make it as difficult as possible on overnight parking. Parking close together, and use fork lock. Disc lock, cable or chain a couple of them together. Remove windshields and bags? At what point does it become too much?

I'll be honest, I really don't do much at all. Typically just lock the front forks...

We try and make it difficult too. Park the bikes close with one blocking the rest. Fork locks and alarm sysems. But the shell casing might work best of all.

I always try to make sure I can see the bike somehow from where ever I am. At home, its always garaged.

Now thats good,.... haha. I put a motion sensing alarm on mine after a friend and his brother got both of their scoots stolen from a La Quinta Inn parking lot in Tucson. Now when my motorcycle alarm pager goes off in the hotel room I just lean out the door....flip the laser on the Glock on, and paint up whatever caused the alarm to signal...

I always use the fork lock and park it where I can see it. I also take my helmet with me.

At work, I have the guards (I'm a safety/security guy) keep an eye on it for me. No one goes near it :-)

I read on one of these threads where someone uses a Goldwing cover. He said it has worked for 12 yrs. I forget who posted it, but it still makes me laugh. LOL!!
