Too funny, I like that! Mine is garaged at home, and I can see it about twenty feet from my office window and it's a straight shot out the door to it. Problem is, I tend to gaze and day dream about it when I should be working. oh well.....

I keep seeing references to "SOA" here. What the hell is SOA?
I assume it's a tv show. I don't have TV in my truck so can't watch it. What is it about?

I've got one of those Harley motion alarms from back in the late 70's or early 80's (can't remember exactly when they sold them). Actually works pretty well. If I'm within a couple hundred feet the the bike I'll hear it if someone even bumps it. Other than the factory security stuff that's all I have. Years ago when I thought I was a badass biker I put one of those "If you value your life' stickers on my bike. Couple of days later someone knocked it over. I removed the sticker.

Layers, Layers, Layers of protection! Do more than one security measure, the more layers they have to go thru to steal it, the more chance is they will take someone elses bike because it is just easier. I use HD alarm, disc lock, chain lock, fork lock, and cover all at the same time. You have to add what makes them nervous and that is time. Time is the enemy for the thief. Nothing is 100% but why hand it over for the taking. Of course there are the normal issues of parking in the lighted lot and if possible tip the desk clerk at the hotel to let you park it in sight of the front desk. You may have guessed I am in law enforcement and have a very low level of trust and a severe hatred of thieves. Generally the public gives little thought to the fact that they may be victims of a crime unless it has happened to them before.

I live in a fairly small town without a lot of problems. It would be different on the road, but when I pull up to a local coffee shop for lunch I just lock the ignition and put my gloves and helmet on the seat.

I'll probably lose something one of these days but it's sure nice to live without sweating stuff all of the time.

Always keep the bike in the garage. I have them locked to shackles set in concrete on the floor.

Also have two very well trained pitt bulls. Now thats good insurance!

On the road, I use a set of master lock hand cuff style locks and typically lock two bikes together. So far, so good.

Even with all the precautions in the world, you can't beat full coverage insurance.
