I wear Ariat slip-ons or HD lace-ups. My favorite is Cat work shoes. They have a great sole that works well on sandy spots. They came brown but I had them dyed black.

I do the HD boots on Ebay or clearance, or Dr. Martens. Now Docs are made in China too instead of England. Soon enough we will all be living in China.............

Yep, was wondering about that. Looked at a pair of Ariat boots the other day that had the inside ring. Nice, but don't wanna scratch up my 'pride and joy'. Anybody else avoid this feature when picking boots?

Still looking and THANKS so much for all the replys. Being new to this site I'm overwhelmed by the number of responses.

I got a great deal on Magnum Stealth II boots with a composite toe on closeout. They were replaced with the Magnum Force 8.0 SZ. 59.00 for the Stealths shipped. 109.00 for the 8.0SZ.

Chippewa & Timberlands plus Chippewa has a tremendous restoration program for your boots when they need a facelift.

Double H. Made in the USA and reasonable priced. Excellent quality and what I wear when I ride.

I've had harley boots with laces...never again, got tired of replacing laces, got engineer style and love'm...my only recommendation...you get what you pay for in footware, especially boots, coming from a hunter also. I do not own a pair of boots other than my riding boots that aren't gortex, and would have them if i rode in the rain a lot.

Chippewa, best boots I've ever owned, one pair that is 6 yrs old, one pair two yrs old and a new pair coming in the end of the month. Made in USA, Vibram soles , comfortable, not cheap.
