What you don't know is greater than you do know.
We are all bound by the constitution and bill of right without exception.
There is no legal or constitutional grounds for no-knock warrants- ever!
The 4th amendment no longer applies for the whole of the citizens because of a few?
Can't take pictures/videos of law enforcement doing what WE pay them for?
The list goes on-
BTW-I got nine years in military law enforcement including counter-terrorism/special weapons and tactics-don't assume you know me.
My point was that most of these folks are cop haters and have no reason to be. Most...you first sentence in your reply is dead on and anyone that thinks other of themselves is a fool...by the way, I have 21 years service and counting myself. Doesn't make me an expert...
God forbid the police are armed at least as well as the criminals, can't have that!
No knock warrants are very difficult to obtain. Judges don't just hand them out without real justification. I've applied for them over the years and had several denied.
I'm not saying they aren't dangerous for all involved, on both sides of the door. I'm saying that there are circumstances where they are the safest alternative.
My rights trump your safety each and every time pig.

Yeah, I can see that. I'm sure this Mongol dude was no church mouse.

The latest news story said that they were investigating the feud between the Mongols and the Hells angels. There was nothing they would have found in that search that was worth the life of that officer.
This is thread is kinda like a 6 year long train wreck. I've been watching for 5 and can't look away. I can't look away because it bothers me...a lot. We all get stuck in an "us and them" mentality and go back and forth while those charged with overseeing these things (judges) don't have any skin in the game, neither do prosecutors. They are immune from liability. Don't get me started on informants but there again what do they have to lose. Those potentially on both sides of the door are very liable for their actions and have a great deal at stake. I know some think the Constitution is inconvenient but it's there for a reason. I believe a 'No Knock" warrant should only be used in exigent circumstances to save a life/lives. With the technology we have now these are way too risky for anything else. One person on either side of the door can turn the whole thing into a catastrophe. Crappy odds. Nothing personal but ring my doorbell or call me on my cell if you wanna talk to me. In my case if ya got a radar gun I give out probable cause daily

This post is as ignorant as what you're accusing the extreme other side of... "Most" of us are not cop haters. "Some of us" are active duty cops AND military and are simply stating how we feel about a method that is, or is suspected of being, at odds with our constitution; a method that is at best extremely dangerous and questionable, and at worst, results in the death of innocent civilians and good police officers. Officer Diamond was a great police officer and a good man. He didn't need to die that way. And if you do some digging, you'll see that there are some questions being raised about just how he was shot and by whom. Needless, unnecessary, and unfortunate.

The main problem with the badges and the badge bunnies, is that they will never admit wrong doing by the badges. If a badge is arrested they scream to their loudest of "due process", "innocent until proven guilty". If a citizen is arrested they, the badges, use force and beatings and the badge bunnies all stand up and cheer. Some of the badges here will not admit that some of their own are as bad as those they are hired to catch. People wonder why the badges are looked down upon? It is to much of the "Us against Them" and we can do no wrong attitude that the far greater majority of badges have.
