I'd raise more than hell. I'd tell the moron dealer to fix the paint or take the whole f#ckin' bike back. The blemish is an obvious defect in the paint application. For what you paid for those tins, you should expect nothing less than perfect.
The "easy" fix for them is to sand & feather the blemish area, scuff up the clear on the rest of the tank, airbrush in the red & the black, clear the whole tank.
One of the reasons that I don't post on hdforums is the **** that has to be waded through. I mentioned Caliber, it might also have been Platinum One, depending on whether or not it was under the "Custom" or "Exotic" design.
Honestly, after reading all the "Go get 'em" posts to get to the end, I'm exhausted and since I'm not actually working, I'm done. You got a bad dealer, get a second opinion.
And how about you responders who didn't have a damned thing to say, not say it?

I'm glad that you the almighty has fixed the problem for him. Gee...thanks for showing the rest of how. Maybe you should do what you say....and not respond to Hd forums since there is so much **** to wad through.
Why dont you call the Bureau of auto repair or the BBB, dealers dont want the bad marks on their records. I bought my 99 fatboy new, there was a gouge in the lower fork from the tin being bent. They loaded the bike on my truck and cinched it down for me too, the dealer never said a word about the gouge until I mentioned it. Then they said oh yeah we will fix it on your first service.
This is the kind of chit that makes people go away from American products. Not always but often. My .02
What a load of crap. I'd be on the 'deeler' like a chitty diaper on a baby. STUCK, til they changed it.
What arrogant bastuds. Then chitcan going there for anything but using the WC after eating tacos for 2 days. It would then smell like it should, REAL SH*TTY.
How and why you ppl put up with this dealer chit is WAY beyond my 56 yrs. I wouldn't give 'em the sweat off my b*lls, if they were thirsting to death.
Guess the 'new' custom parts, are more and more like the 'old' custom parts we used to get in the 60's and 70's. What "CUSTOM" meant was that you had to 'customize' it to fit your scoot. So, 'customize' your new 'custom' tins to your liking. AGAIN, what a load of crap.
I had a problem with my HD Custom Paint. Different parts went back 4 times before I accepted it. Dealer stood right there beside me, and sent the tins back each time till it was right. I did have to get the HD Cust Serv folks involved to settle it as the Custom Paint folks that were actually doing the work started to raise a little crap. They ended up getting it done right, + they gave $500 off the job for the pain in the rear it caused. I was pretty satisfied when all was said and done. PM me if you would like a phone number for HD Customer Service rep that helped me out... Hope this helps.
I see the blemish's,white spots and looks like primer where there should be paint. They should take them back, repaint them no charge(until they get it right). Custom means special, means lots of $$$$ and it needs to be what you paid for. I would be persistent but don't let your anger give them an excuse to make that the issue.

I see it. I also have custom tins and I definitely would not accept that shoddy work. I would tell the dealer to send the tank back to HD and to put a loaner tank on your bike while you wait for it to be replaced or repainted. I really believe that once HD sees that tank that they will replace it. Your dealer needs to be straightened out. How long has he been a dealer?
