Default History Lesson's needed...

Hey all. Fred here. I was just watching a movie and there was some talk of MC's and 1%er's and patch holders. I was just wondering is someone here could break it all down for me maybe give me a little history lesson. I was a Buell rider up untill this year. I ordered a FXDC and will take delivery of it In December. Can't wait. It will be a nice Christmas present when I get home from the sandbox.

Id use the search feature but be advised theres 7 or 19 different versions being posted on this forum.

In an attempt to perserve a wholesome image of motorcycling after the media sensationalized events in Hollister CA 1947, the AMA stated that 99% of all motorcyclists were good decent law-abiding people and that there was this 1% out there giving them all a bad reputation.

Not verbatim but it'll get you started.

ps; "patch holder" simply means a member of a club, M/C M/M R/C doesnt matter if they earned it, paid entry dues for it, got it when they bought their bike etc. its just a phrase really.

Ive heard members of HOG refer to themselves as "patch holders".

Patriot Guard Riders are a loosely formed alliance of riders that ride to functions supporting our troops. Just about anything from funerals (to keep the idiots from Kansas at bay) to welcome home ceremonies. Google the name and you'll get some good links. Most of them really only ride together when doing a PGR function. So it's not really like a club in most places.
