Well, I wanted the extra performance, tha's why I added it. I wasn't wrong. I'm thinking the computer could fix it, but I'm not that computer smart.

This is a good topic, I am planning on changing my mufflers or pipes and wanted to know the exact same thing.

when changing air cleaner and pipes one will need to 'rechip' the efi mod. harley has their own SERT (Screaming Eagle Race Tuner) when upgrading with screaming eagle. other air cleaners (AN Big Sucker) have their own recomendations for efi tuners to use. this will give ya a slight increase in HP , mabe 10%. i've know of folks just replacing pipes and not rechipping

While I haven't made the pipe/AC mods yet, I've read a lot of posts that you need to add an efi mod (FuelPak, PClll ect). When I make the change over next spring, I'll definitely be using an efi mod. For $200-$300 I'm not going to risk my investment.

Yeah, do a search, for "fuel pack", "power commander", "sert", etc. Or scroll on down to the Fuel injection board. Educate your self on it.

Read the EFI 101. It will enlighten you.

On the newer bikes when adding pipes only you need only a REMAP/Program.

For the A/C you will need a fuel management system of some type such as the SERT Pro, PCIII, etc.

You're going to get every opinion under the sun with a thread like this. Some are going to tell you the stock ECM will correct for the mods, others are going to tell you IEDs or XIEDS are the way to go. Most people support what they have, right or wrong. As JaysonL said, read the EFI 101 posts, educate yourself and make an informed decision that is yours, not an anonymous online source. I would also HIGHLY RECOMMEND calling Fuel Moto and talking to Jamie about what you want to do and what the PCIII will get you, in addition to calling V&H to discuss the FuelPak. From there it is pretty much your decision based on the mods you will do and cost. I personally have the FuelPak and it does what it should, however, because of some other things I want to do, I am thinking of the PCIII next year. There are many others out there, these are just my two personal preferences.

On my 08 the dealer told me if you just add pipes or slip-ons no download or fule manager is required. Adding anything beyond pipes such as a hi flow AC or true duals or the like he said does. The Fuelpak was a no brainer and an easy install when I added V&H true duals and Big Sucker. Good luck.
