Hmm, responses here are remarkably mild. I didn't think you'd get much love from the non-SoCal crowd, many of whom are in the process of (or already completed) putting their bikes away for the season.

Critical bunch, ain't ya'll... Embrace the rain, and let it be part of the experience... You'll get used to it in about 10-15 years!! Yea, I still hate it, and I'm caught in it every year on one trip or another. Went on a little 2500 miler this summer, and didn't get a drop until I was about 30 miles from home, and sky opened up. Yes, it rained for three stinkin' days, so there was no waiting it out. Put the old rain gear on, and pulled in with a disgustingly filthy bike. But it was a great trip. And those memories are priceless.....
