For the Twin Cam, Fram PH6022, PH6065A-Chrome, these filters fit and can be found at Walmart or other places for about half the price. I understand the following filters also cross. I know they don't say HD on them, so they may not be for everyone here, but listed for those that might need to save a few $$$$.
I got lucky recently and bought 2 cases of 6 each (12) new chrome HD filters on Ebay for $60 including shipping. I'm good for a while even with 3 bikes.
I've been running Chevron RPM Delo in my bikes for years - Wal Mart 5 qt bottle. It specs out fine for the service duty on air cooled v-twins even though originally developed for high temp diesels. I also run it in diesel farm equipment.
Dennis Jerk is just down the road from us, so I just grab a filter when going by, if it is time. Don't pay any attention to price, when ya need it, ya need it. But less than $10, I know that much.
I git my earl, Amsoil 50w for FREE. I work on the distributors scoot, and he pays me in earl.
I have an Amsoil wholesale account. Not allowed to say how much I pay, but let's say it's much, much less than the HD stuff. Plus I don't have to change as often.
... and yes, Amsoil does make a chrome oil filter for Harleys
Just wondering what everyone else is paying for oil and filters. Seems like the dealer here is pretty high, he knows it and makes no bones about it. Matter of fact, they seem pretty arrogant about it.
chrome filters are 16.79
hd syn3 oil is 11.40 qt
what do you all pay?
The numbers you quoted are high.........the key is to stock up during sales & use common sense !!
I recently purchased 5 quarts of Mobil 1 VT 20/50 for $ 25.00 at Advance Auto (thanks to a forum member for pointing that out)........also buy the BLACK HD 5-micron filter from the dealer at Less than 1/2 what you pay for your chrome one (again, on sale at least 20% off)............WD
