You pull up to the light to make a left turn. You attempt to trigger the light. Nothing!! After cross traffic goes again your light doesn't turn green. I'm sure some of you are going to say "The light always turns for me". But for those that the light doesn't turn for, what do you do? Do you run it?
Oh does did that happen all to often where I live. Depending on whats going on either a car eventually comes along and triggered it or of its late and there is no traffic I go. I recently purchased this magnet deal that bolts under the frame and problem seems to be solved now.
When going to work in the morning I hit one light that is always red. I end up just looking both ways and travel thru. I'm hoping if I get pulled over for it the LEO will understand.
They passed the Left on Red for bike shere in South Carolina. Allowed to turn after a reasonable "wait" usually 2 mins. You gots to be reeeeeaaaallllyy careful!
I'll proceed through the red if I can tell the light isn't going to change. I don't run into that much any more since getting the advice to pull my bike up over the edge of the sensor, rather than sitting in the middle of it (i.e., pull the bike over the line on the left or right side of the sensor, so it runs under the length of the bike - put the front wheel just past one of the corners - triggers the light every time).

There is nothing wrong with doing this, I do it all the time. It's common sense, and it is all about stopping and making sure the way is clear. If the day comes that I have to sit in front of a judge,so be it.I look forward to it.

Yep and when you tell the judge the light malfunctions he says case dismissed.
