Default Open Primary Install help!

Ok harley brothers i'm about to tackle a BDL EVO9s open primary install. I need any help from people who have installed one before. I'm installing on a 2001 Fatboy. I don't like getting half way in and having a problem. Please don't comment on dangers and all that BS. Just riding is dangerous and we'll be here all day. I don't care if it rips my freaking leg off, i just want good tips and tricks to help for a smooth install. I know theres some good hog mechanics out there. thanks

Don't know about BDL, but my Primo install was "by the book" from the supplied instruction sheet.

IF you don't have one, get one or borrow one.

Got mine here, cause they are just down the road. You can pull almost everything on a Harley with one of these. Clutch hub, alternator rotor, engine sprocket.

I run BDL's on both mine, the pan and the 78 Shovel. One tin primary, and one alum. w/electric.

You putting on a 3" or Pro Stock?
Directions will be straight forward.
There are naysayers everywhere, and what I'm about to tell you, you can do or not do. I use impact on clutch and motor nuts. Off is not the prob, ON is where you have to watch your P's and Q's. DO NOT OVERDO it.
Inspect the clutch hub and ring gear GOOD prior to starting. I have received hubs, with the ring gear NOT seated all the way, and it will eat up a 1 1/2 belt in less than 70 miles if the ring gear is touching the belt. I read that in Hot Bike, one time.
Ensure your outer supports (if you have them for your unit) are properly aligned, but again, the destructions will cover that.
Save ALL the pieces from your primary, etc. Much easier to sell it on EBAY, Craigslist, or likewise. IF you're gonna sell it, take a couple of pics of the old stuff, prior to taking it off, so you can show ppl, it was on a running mowsheen. I also jot down the mileage with a magic marker on the hub or someplace visible. Again, this is if you plan on selling it. (Comes right off with lacquer thinner or carb cleaner)
Got your manual for removal? Pretty straight forward. Post back, if you run into a road block. Someone here will post back.
Also, BDL has a decent (?) tech line, you can call them, too.
Good luck.
