I picked up just the replacement shield from J&P's scratch and dent section for 3/4 price ($65) about 4 months ago. Only a small scratch near the mounting bracket.
I am considering a shorter windshield height for my Sportster and can either buy the replacement plastic or try cutting three inches off the current shield.
My new Clearview, dark gray, recurve shield will arrive Friday. John was a great guy to do business with. When I called him I was interested in a blem and he looked on the computer at his in stock blem shields for Ultras and he said he had a couple I might would accept. He went to the trouble of going to put hands on and called me back to tell me he didn't think I would be happy with either one. So, I ordered new. Each one is custom made after the order with a turnaround of 3 weeks. I called him three weeks to the day and he cked on it and told me. He said when it came out of the mold it had a very minor blem and I would have trouble finding it. He was going to do another one but I told him to ship it to me anyway. I got 20% off for the blem and an extra 15% off for ordering before the end of the year sale and rec notice from UPS it was shipped that day. If the blem is as he says, this has been a great buying experience.
i just put on one from national and very impressed with the people who answer the phone and their help.the hardwars and windshield quality make the HD i took off look sad.it was the heavy duty series.
