I want to get 16" x 1 1/4" ape hangers for my softail but I got some questions after doing some searching. Does any other company make gangster apes like Carlini and how they have a bend in the bar? Carlini's are real nice, but I cant see spending $350 for bars alone. I tried Wild1inc and some other places, but no luck. Also, what is the difference between apes and gimps? I thought it was the size, but I've seen threads that have 16" apes and others with 16" gimps. Thanks for the help, and if this was already covered I apologize, I couldn't find anything.
I haven't seen bars like Carlini by anyone else. My brother runs the 16 x 1.5" ganster apes by Carlini and they look really nice. I am not familiar with the term gimps. Sorry and good luck
Carlini is the only company that makes the Gangster Apes. Try giving them a call and ask about the blemished ones. They usually have some that might have some scuffs or pitting in places that you won't see when you get everything on.
Keep in mind that they measure their apes a little differently than other companies. 16"ers from Carlini are actually about 18.5". That's what I have on the bike in my sig.
