Hi guys. I hope this is ok. I posted this in the V-Rod forum, but I saw that there weren't many people viewing that forum and wanted to get as many opinions as possible. I promised to give the seller a call sometime today.
I have a chance to buy a 2006 Screamin' Eagle V-Rod with 1,700 miles on it for $17,500. It looks to be in perfect condition and it runs well. Is this a good price? The KBB value is $19,655 Retail and $15,100 Trade-In. In todays economy, I don't know how much to try and deal. The seller doesn't seem to really be pressed to sell the bike, but I don't want to pay to much either.
Thank you for your help.
I'm not a V-Rod fan, but even if that's a nice bike, it's still 3 years old...new stock V-Rods go MSRP at just over 14K...hell, the MSRP on a brand new Muscle is only $17,199, and my local dealer knocks 1K off V- Rods all the time...if you're gonna spend that kind of $$, look at new ones...just IMHO...

I own a 2006 Vrsca and being it is a Screanin Eagle with all that comes with that I would say his price is fair. 1700 miles is just barely broke in. Did he buy the extended warranty with it? In todays economy I would do like the one guy said start at trade in value and go from there. Good luck and SE Vrods are sharp, and tough. I've got 17000 miles on mine with no problems.

The SEs keep their value. However, the 05s IMHO were better than the 06s, more power.
Back in 06 the SEIIs were the only V-Rods with a 240mm rear tire or the 1250cc engine, not that's standard, plus the slipper clutch, and you can get anti-lock brakes.
At this point all you're paying extra for is the chrome, paint and name. If it's worth it to you, go for it. If not, check out the 08s and 09s for better performance at a lower price.
