Been there done that... It's heart breaking to have your bike get demolished but if you live to tell the story and ride again that's all that matters in the long run. Glad your buddy is OK.
To me, the problem with any of the roads in there is sand. You just never know how much will be on any turn and especially after the Santa Ana winds come through.
