Looking at the Harley softail tool kit and you pay a lot for stuff I have already got.
I have AFspanners screw drivers and pliers the only other things are the main sockets and tourge bits can any one tell me what are the tourge and sockets sizes I need ,I have metric but dont want to damage anything.
Looking at doing all of my own servicing is there any thing else I may need
go to sears.... find a 2 piece rolling tool chest,,,,
push that up to the counter,,,
now walk down the socket and wrench isle,,, grab about 80% of all kits
same with all other isles......
leave with your new tool box full...... that should just about get ya started!!!!
Call your local "Snap On" dealer, they should be able to help, and they come to you. Cheap too!
There is nothing cheap about Snap On tools. They will hose you harder and deeper than John Holmes. Unless you work full time with your tools you don't need them. Craftsman tools will work fine for you.
That posting may make the "why did I ask this question" HDF Hall of Fame.
As for tools, do a quick search on Ebay for Harley motorcycle tools. There are cheap sets that can be carried in a fork/saddle bag as well as larger tool packages for a tool box.

very good and I know how to open the fuel tap and dont need that tool or the girl in the petrol station to do it for me unless she is very fit, must admit these were funny.
I have stripped and rebuilt many metric bikes and cars and always do my own servicing except the Harley during its warrenty period.
Maybe this was a dumb question and all I realy need is a set of non metric torx's to go with my AF spanners and sockets.
Carry all you think you need and you will never use any of them. Most of my bag tools are tumbled polished big time! Throw in some wire, electric tape, and a couple rags.
