Miracle Man
All I could do was look at him and ask, "do you have a cell phone?"
He said that he was sorry and didn't (another miracle - 2 people standing side-by-side in Japan without a cell - 99% of people here have 'em), so I said, "thanks anyway" and walked to the nearest public phone and called my dealer and they came and picked me and my wrecked bike up.
So, since I was okay, I was just going to keep this from my wife and kids for awile. There was no evidence other than my bike being gone that I had even had a crash. But I went and opened my big mouth and now she's convinced motorcycles are dangerous, scaring the kids and saying things like, "see, you should stay away from those things." "You are okay this time, thank God, but what about next time?" Maybe she's right...
In any case, I don't really have the extra money (unless I take it from the kids' college fund) to get my bike fixed and I shouldn't be riding right now, anyway, since I'm on tranquilizers to help me sleep better at night. Could be one of the reasons I reacted the way I did. So, the bikes gonna stay in a heap for awhile. The front fork is totally caved in so that the front tire is against the frame, the front fender mutilated, engine guard bent in on the right side (did it's job also and protected the tank - not a scratch on that - the engine and most importantly, my legs) and foot board totally folded in. Mufflers are all scraped up. More damage than I cared to notice and really list. Not a scratch on me, though. More than one witness told me that it was a miracle I walked away from it like that...
Will post pictures of my, um...wreck soon.
all kiddin aside,, glad your still here to tell us about it!!
