If mine isn't going to ride with me I remove her seat, sissy bar and pegs and just put a rack on the back. It only takes a half hour or so to put the chit on if she want's to go for a ride and saves allot grief. Letting another women ride on her seat would be like me loaning a pair of her panties out.
My wife would never have a problem with it.She says unless its a stranger theres no problem and any woman that has a problem with it is just insecure.
That is it in a nutshell. My GF agrees and we have been together for five years and might as well be married. Unless it's a stranger she has no problem with another woman on my bike. Unless he was responsible for her feeling insecure I don't see what he did wrong. His wife wasn't there to control the situation and that's probably why she is pissed. If the three of you were hanging out and the friend wanted to go for a ride I would bet there wouldn't be a prob. I am wondering if his wife was broke down and couldnt get a hold of him so she called a guy friend and he told her he isnt allowed to pick up another woman without his wife's permission how would that make her feel while she sat there waiting for help. I say trust me or get out of my way. Life is too short to be unhappy.
From what I gather, you had a choice to take the truck or take the bike and you took the bike to go pick up another woman. Did I understand that correctly?
If so, that was most definitely wrong.
Dave is a get on, hang on and shut up kinda guy BUT even he knows-That back seat is MINE. He likes it that way. His ex-wife never gave two chits what he did on the bike, actually pushed him out the door on the weekends, and never wanted to ride with him unless it was an event "to be seen at." Guess why? She wanted him to go and do his thing so he couldn't complain about her doing her "thing". He found out quickly her "thing" was other men. On the other hand, I love riding with Dave, it's one of many things we enjoy together. Does that mean that I'm up his azz 24/7? No. I still enjoy doing things without Dave and Dave still enjoys time alone on his bikes, the difference is I care about him enough to want to know what he is up to.
OK I'll chime in. I have 5 daughters and 1 wife. Wife has her own bike too. No-one of female persuation, NO-ONE except one of my girls or the wife rides on my bike. Yes in many circles it is an unwritten rule. My rules are simple....happy wife=happy life
Yes it is a rule in my house hold too about the back seat on my Ultra, but only with strangers. My wife would have been upset I didn't go help a family friend. Bike / truck it doesn't matter. All our friends ride. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be more pissed off if a bro of mine didn't help my wife if I wasn't there to do it myself. I do for the reasons of respect let her know before any rides are given and she never has an issue with it. Hell, one ride we took we had a few OL's that wanted to see what it was like to ride different scoots. That made for a nice day of riding let me tell ya!

No butt, no putt. That back seat is the ole lady's and she ain't shy bout it, she would kick the other girls asp friend or not, and I wouldn't have a good night for a while either.

without fail every woman I've been with that got jealous over frivolous BS was doing it because of their own guilt for cheating. now I'm with someone that thinks as long as we are honest with each other and don't have a bunch of silly rules there is no reason to cheat...life is too short for petty jealousies.

It's not about jealousy and petty BS. It's about respect, understanding, and appreciation of each other. Some things are just between the two of us and the seat is one of them, IMFUO.
