Typical of today's reporters parts of the who, what, where, why and when was missing. I think the reporter just meant Destination Daytona and not the total of the 15 dealerships that he has.

It was good to hear of the volume sales. A local dealer where I just picked up my XR1200 two days ago said that they have had strong sales so far this year and they are getting more bikes than in the past.
he has 16 dealerships and even in mississippi

All i know is wandered throught he Jackson MS dealership yesterday to buy a quart of sport/trans fluid and saw more bikes on the floor than i had ever seen there before, new and used. Saw several with "sold" tags on them. Now it was 80+ degrees and sunny yesterday. If they were "sold" why wasn't someone riding them? Maybe someone trying to work out financing? They had a whole row of new $20,000+ touring bikes. Kinda makes me chuckle thinking of the 90's when some people were 2 years on a waiting list to get one.

Default Not quite

$250K per day at Destination Daytona???? This is not even close, if that's referring to gross revenue. Ten bikes at $25K each would be $250K alone. He's selling more like 100 bikes per day and god knows how many parts, t-shirts, rentals, etc., etc.

We picked up a new Sportster yesterday and I asked the sales manager how things were going for them. He laughed and said that 2008 was their best year ever and January 2009 was their best January so far. Doesn't seem to have slowed down for them at all. In fact, they bought out a huge local metric dealership and are moving it to a brand new building they are putting up next to the HD building.
