Now when you guys same "riding in warm weather", how warm are you talking about. I live in Las Vegas and warm is an understatement, it's hell in the summer time. I would like to know if it would be good for the desert riding.

Cold is easy, cause you can layer and stuff. I'm hoping to buy electrics for that.

Thanks for the input so far.

FYI--I almost bought the FXRG nylon.

Instead I bought the Road Warrior Jacket. Because I ride in colder temps I also bought the Detour Windproof jacket and use it as a liner.

The combo of the two is awesome. I can then adjust my layers as needed.

I think that the FXRG nylong or leather is outstanding gear. I just changed my mind as to what works for me.

I know what you mean about Vegas, being a poker player and all and liking to visit!
Frankly, while the FXRG is a great jacket, I couldn't recommend it for Vegas weather. HD is coming out with a new ventilated leather FXRG, but I have not seen it in the stores as yet.

HD makes a jacket you can soak in water for summer use. It keeps you cool by evaporation. That would actually be a wise choice for you most of the time!

Got the leather jacket and I have to say as some others have said, it's a very nice jacket with all of the amenities, but it does get warm for me on 50+ degree days. I have to ride with all of the vents open and mostly unzipped (the jacket, that is). I also have a textile mesh jacket w/ removable liner that works well on the warmer days. I believe it is a Nitro or something. I removed all of the badges on it, so it's all black now. But I have no doubt that the leather FXRG jacket would keep you warm in the very coldest of temperatures. I have ridden down in the upper twenties with mine and still stayed nice and toasty, granted I have a wind screen on my scooter too. Got some really nice Harley gauntlet style gloves that have 100 grams of thinsulate in them. Those, also, are very warm. Just my $.02.

My FXRG textile works quite well in hot weather as long as you can keep moving. I recall the first time I used it on an 80 degree day and had removed the inner lining and opened the vents. I can't say that I stayed cool, but I really did not get too warm. When I finished the ride, I took off the coat and found the outer skin almost hot to the touch. It was just a reminder that good insulation works both ways --- keeps heat and cold out.

When I moved from Virginia to southern Alabama a few years ago, I purchased one of the HD mesh coats with body armor. I got it primarily for those days when I knew I would be in a little "stop and go" traffic.

Keep in mind that I am one of those crazy folks who tries to stay acclimated to seasonal changes by not jacking up the AC too cool in the summer and not running the heat too much in the winter. Nevertheless, I believe the FXRG touring coats to be amazingly versatile.

I have the FXRG jacket and love it, the gloves on the other hand are comfortable but don't stand up well below 50-55 deg.
