Waste Oil

I don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but here in Denver, the Harley dealers that sell the expensive oil, filters, primary fluid, seals, gaskets, etc., WON'T take the waste!
Why not????
My local auto parts store will take it.
I don't understand...

maybe you should buy where you can dispose of the old oil. (DUH)

The dealer most likely has to pay for disposal of the used oil while the parts stores usually have tanks provided by the oil companies. These companies recycle that waste oil. not sure what it is made into but it is most likely less critical lubricants like tractor hydraulics and gear oils.

The local Wal-Mart here will take it. Never have tried the dealer. I have been buying most of the oil for my cages at Wally World.

Well, wouldn't it make sense for a dealer to do the same thing as parts houses with used oil?

Wonder what they do with oil the drain when they do service?

We burn waste oil at our shop in a waste oil heating system. Our business generates enough oil to heat the shop all winter, but I know some users don't always have enough. Seek them out and they will be happy to take your oil!
