Default Shoes for crew - anyone use them?

I am wearing doc martens now but I find every once in a while I will lose my footing and slip.

So I am in the market for some new boots and I remember these boots from when I was working kitchens. They worked very well against the grease and other stuff on the floors.

Just curious if anyone here actually wears them for riding and if they are a worth while purchase.

I work in a restaurant and have worn these...they suck. Not nearly as grippy as they say, and the "leather" they use is junk.

No boot is going to give you 100% grip all the time. Your best bet is to find the most comfortable boot for you with an oil resistant sole.

Normally I wear a pair of Harley boots. They are comfortable, and contrary to popular belief they were not more expensive than some others of similar quality. When I'm riding to work I wear either Justin boots with oil resistant soles or a pair of black Skechers with oil resistant soles. The Skechers aren't quite over the ankle, but they are close. Kinda a high-top type of thing, but they work with my casual-dress requirement.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
I have a pair of hand-me-down harley boots, they work great but just don't fit. So I have been in the market.
You guys just saved me 60-80 buck of frustration.

I just wear a good pair of logging or engineer boots with Vibram soles. There's Carolina, Danner, Georgia Boot, etc.

I have a pair of Red Wings that are water proof and oil resistant. I also have a pair of Tony Lama work boots with slip resistant soles. The stupid dog ate the top of one of them!

Harley "Faded Glory" boots for me, go above the ankle for support, vibram lug soles and oil resistant. I've also got some "enforcers" ballistic nylon/rubber, very light and cool in the summer, they are from Bates.

I have some Harley boots. They look like just plain jane work boots. They were cheap from Farm and Fleet and work great.

Got a pair of Red Wings on ebay for $50, brand new. They needed no breaking in at all and the soles have awesome grip.

Corcoran II combat boots are great riding boots. I just retired a pair after eight years of wearing them. They were still fine to wear, just butt ugly from abuse. I got a new pair of Corcoran jump boots and they are great but still not quite as comfy and grippy as my Corcoran IIs were.
