I have formost and have to say they are excellent.
I got my new Fat bob in November and when I called to let Formost know, my rate was going up by $170 a year. I was not happy and told them to keep it on for now but I would be looking for less expensive rates.
Well I never got around to checking. In January I was in an accident that almost totalled my new bike, $12,000 in damages. Formost was so easy to deal with. They called me once to get my story and that was it. They delt directly with the Harley dealer and told them to fix it.
By the time Harely was done, it was over $14,000 and if harley would have told Formost that in the beginning, Formost would have just bought me a new bike. I have a feeling the dealer wanted a to make some money on the repairs. But that's a story about the dealer.....
Anyway, Formost had my fixed like brand new, no issues about anything. Any part the needed to be replaed, no matter how small a scratch, Formost replaced it.
When I was finished, they called to make sure it was fixed to may satisfaction (it was). With all this in mind, it worth the extra $170 a year (went from $430 to $600).
There is a guy on here who recently was saying that Progressive was giving him a hard time. I guess his frame was bent in an accident and Progressive said they would not replace it, it had to be straightened. NO FRICKEN WAY! It's not safe! With this in mind, I would never go with Progressive. My frame had a tiny paint crack after the accident. It didn't appear to be bent but Formost said replace it just in case. They seem to be concerned about their customers safety, not trying to save a buck when you need them.
Have them for homeowners for over 20 years and over the years the claims(tornadoes damage etc..) everything went smoothly. They are reasonable priced. I am very happy with them.
I'm in the industry, and I have heard good things. They are currently competitive as I think they are trying to increase their market share. Always a good time to get a good rate, if that is so.
I changed over to Foremost through AARP a few years ago. Had Dairyland and Foremost came up with a better rate and better coverage. Haven't had to use them though!!
