Anyone notice scheduled service prices coming down at the dealers ? I was at one of my local dealers about 6 months ago. I walked back through the service area to check on what my 10,000 mile service would cost me on my RK. It wasn't due yet but it was getting close. The big board on the wall said $485. I stopped in just last week and the new price is $333. I am certainly not complaining but was wondering if anyone else has seen this happening.
You been practicing all day to be this helpful Cody ? Why don't you take an extra day there and work on it somemore. Your communication skills could use some work.
There are some things I want to do on my bike and others I would rather leave to the dealer. My bike makes it my choice. The bigger check ups like the 10,000 and 20,000 I feel more comfortable letting them do. I can handle the others if that's alright with you.
Now back to the original question. Has anyone seen this at any of the dealers. Other then Cody of course.
My bike goes for its 10k service on Monday, didnt even enquire the price, will let you know, there are some things in the 10k service that I think the dealer should do and that is why I send it to them for the Majors, 1K 10K ETC, one of the main items is to re-set all the spokes, that is something i would not attempt myself, hope I get a reduction,
From the "big board menus at a couple of dealerships within 1 hour from my door
Dealership A 10k service $525
Dealership B 10k service $230
Dealership C 10k service $225
nearest indy sez $230 but they don't clean the bike afterwards....
Whether you wrench your own, or pay to have it done, is no one's business but your own.
But... if you're gonna pay, it helps to check around, and ASK around..... price is just ONE part of the question
I do all my own except warranty work or something major , the older I get the less I feel like fooling with some things ..
Two dealers within an hour of me are about $100 diff in service prices .. Dont go to them very often , so cant say if the prices have come down any in recent months ..
Jus' because it is an Indy and/or it's less expensive , doesnt mean it's "better" ..
Dealers are here to make a profit and a payroll , just like the Indy and anybody else , they just have a higher cost of doing business ..
I've run into too many Indy's who dont stand behind their work down thru the years ..
Service prices holding firm around here. When I look at the overhead that the dealers around here have, I don't see how they do the job that they do for such a SMALL fee!
