Default Outer Banks Motorcycle friendly?

We're taking a vacation down there in July....Wondering whether I should bring my bike. I hate to leave it home, I'll miss it, as I ride every day

I do have loud pipes. Do the police down there bust ba11s?

I haven't been since last summer, but was stationed in NC for 11 years and hit the OBX 3 or 4 times a year, never once had a problem. Beautiful riding no matter where you go out there. You may want to keep a ferry schedule on hand depending on where you're going to be.

As long as you are not stupid about it I do not think you will have an issue. Watch out for the sand on the road though, that can be a problem

Thanks for the replies guys.

yeah, I was down there once...that nice long cruise between Nags head and Hatteras can have a lot of sand and often water covering the road.

that'll be tricky LOL

We ride down there all the time since it's only a couple hours away. Never had any problems.

Going to Emerald Isle this August . My family and I went there last year and loved it . I would love to have my bike with me . But I have to drive the Jeep loaded to the brim with all our beach gear . We usually have around 13 of us each time we go . We stay on the beach in a rented house every year . This year we're going a week later than usual , and saving almost $4000. bucks on the rental . They rent scooters on the island , so I would assume it's biker friendly and all . Missed my bike all week last year . So much to see , and having my bike would be fantastic . It takes us 12 hrs. to get there . But it would be worth the ride to have my bike with me . .................Maybe I'll get to do it one day ........Kev
