Newly converted motorcyclist here, while looking to get a new Big twin and have noticed that there are tons of used HD's on the market. They all have very low mileages. It seems most the owners do not ride their bike at all. They are are very shinny and new. I saw one 2005 has less than 1000 miles and practically look new. I am afraid to test ride the bike, he must spent a lot time to maintain it this conditions.
It looks like there are two major types of owners here in the HD owner circle. Interesting, when I checked for used BMW bikes, most of them have ten of thousands miles on them.
I am not sure if you share my observations here. It is not about what is better here, it is about the objectives of use and the passion of having a bike.
Please be a gentleman and civilized when discuss this. TIA
Whoa, those are good numbers fellows. I think I will put mine at least 4000 miles a year. 30 miles around trip to work x 26 weeks a year x 5 day a week plus whatever I will ride around in the weekends.
