Default 110 heads WTF?

Whats the deal with all the stock 110SE heads for sale of Ebay. Must 10 sets less than a year old. Some kind of problem with them? If people are changing them out, What are they changing them to? Just seem kinda strange to me, maybe its not.

Maybe it is just the "you cant have too much power "thing? Moving on to 120"?

Probably warped from the heat.......they have a hard enough time keeping 96" heads flat.

I've heard about frequent head gasket failures on the 110's.

CVO 110 heads of a certain model year have a known issue with the rear head leaking. There was a pretty extensive write up in American Iron about the cause and fix and it wasn't cheap to fix. I suspect what you are seeing is some of those guys who replaced jugs and heads trying to recoup some of their money.

2007's are a nightmare. 2007 110's are a fiasco with the heat problems. The MOCO keeps trying band-aid repairs to solve the problems to date with no success. Read Donny Pteresen's articles in American Iron. The fix is out-of-pocket scary.................

The write up was for the same issues the MOCO had sent the Product Program Upgrade out for. Each of the 110's built or installed by a dealer was covered at a "no charge" upgrade to the customer. I agree the head gasket change in composite does not directly address the issue with the cylinder liners, but I have had "0" issues with head gasket leaks since replaced. The 110's are tuned to the same variables as the TC88, TC96 and all other manufactured vehicles that require EPA regulations. Larger engine, more power, more heat. I have had no failures due to heat related issues. No burnt pistons, valves etc.
The reasons these heads are for sale everywhere is the fact they are the same internal castings as the Jim's 120 heads. Port diamater is too large for the engine and they don't work very well. Rework stock castings are desired by most.
