Hi, looking for a new helmet, 1/2 helmet, open face, and hopefully with detachable face screen. Can you recommend on-line supplier?? Helmet Mfr ?? HJC good? I've looked at Leather Up , any experience?? Also lookin for a reliable leather supplier. Thanks much, Steve '07 STC
Fox Creek makes good basic leathers at a reasonable price. For custom tailored stuff I would stick with either Bates Leathers or Langlitz. Custom tailored costs more, but I think it is worth it in the long run. Since I first got measured and fitted at Bates in 1991, I have had 5 bikes, but 1 set of leathers. And there is NOTHING like tailored and fitted clothing.
+1 on Fox Creek. They do ask for all your measurements so they are not a S M L company but at the same time its not truly "tailored" leathers. As far as their quality they are top notch and the customer service is GREAT! I have had several gloves from them (I loose them for some reason) chaps and jacket for years now and they just get better with age.
Personally I think Harley products are as good as any. Find what you like at a Harley dealer and then locate it on eBay for much less. Harley pricing is my only objection.
I also think that Harley leathers are good quality, if you don't mind doing a little free advertising for the moco. I don't mind, as a lot of the designs are pretty cool.
On the other hand, my vest is Fox Creek because I wanted it plain to be able to customize with patches/pins as I see fit, and I love it. Quality is amazing down to even the smallest details. Like mentioned above, they take ALL of your measurements, so the fit is as close to tailored as you can get without spending a small fortune.
I have used fulmer helmets for 27 years. i had 3 car motorcycle accidents and still here. last week a new rider slide on oil and held on to the bike and flopped on her head 2 times and was out of the hospital that same day. they also are not much if you get at the right place. mine came from an indy scooter bike shop for $79 with 3/4 and flip up face shield, another indy wanted 99 and harley shop wanted 129 for the same brand and model. they are also very light and cool in summer and warm in winter.http://www.fulmerhelmets.com/Product/af655.html http://www.fulmerhelmets.com/Product/half.html

Fox Creek is my choice ... HD leathers are made overseas from cheap labor and sold at inflated prices to the US consumer, much like the major shoe companies. It is just business.
Fox Creek made in USA has to be the best leather for the money. I have the Classic MC Jacket II, Laced MC Vest, Chaps, and the Lined Deerskin Gauntlets. If you are looking for some well made heavy weight leathers that can be custom fitted to your specs go to Foxcreek.
The H-D leather jackets that I have seen do not match the quality of Fox Creek. H-D jackets may be more stylish but I haven't seen any that equal the weight of my Fox Creek jacket. If I went down, there is no doubt that I would wanna be wearing this.
