The VIN for my bike is not pulling up in the DMV database, I have not actually been to the office to talk to them yet but a family member works for the state and has access to the DMV system and says it is not pulling up.. I also checked sites like carfax, and free VIN report among other things and nothing is being found.
I know the numbers are correct because I've checked them about 100 times and this is what is stamped on the frame. 1HD1CAH14DY112661
The "D" in the 10th position of the VIN indicates it's a 1983 model.

If it hasn't been tagged since 1991, it's not surprising that DMV ( the people that issue tags) no longer have any info on it. They don't keep this chit forever.
