Default Tools?

I'm not a wrench by any means but do have a small collection of tools ,e.g. socket set, allen wrenches, etc.

Last night I wanted to adjust the angle of the clutch lever and got out my tools. Couldn't find an allen wrench or screwdriver bit to fit.

Any suggestions for what type tools I should get to do minor stuff ('06 Low Rider.)

Thanks,
Sammi

Go to WALLY WORLD and buy the allen wrench socket set and a nice set of screw drivers and socket set. They are nice tools at a reasonable price. I have built the metric on my sig pic using those tools. I have the SAE version for my ROADKING. Although my roadking also has some (very few) metric pieces the tools work great. Now if you want tools that are high end then you can go to sears and get the high dollar stuff. But for what little I do on mine the cheaper tools work great.

The clutch lever clamp is a # 27 torx on my RKC (not allen)

I have a lot of tools in several tool boxes. The problem I had was which ones to carry. I cannot carry many on the bike. I found a 8 piece screwdriver at the dealer that had all the bits needed for minor repairs for most HD bikes. I paid the Harley price but it fits together in one unit. Not a lot of stuff you need hunt for in a bag.

Definetly invest in torx bits. I am a wench, for cheap tools go to Sam's or Costco and get the All-Trade 250 piece set. They are ok quality for someone who does not use them to make a living. I use Snap-On and Mac and Stalwelle, but you pay the price for those. Another to look at is Kobalt at Lowe's & Home Depot, made by Snap-On, or S&K. Both of those are pretty good quality. Hope that helps.

Sammi: Go to Sears and get a:
1) 0-200 inch lb adjustable 3/8 drive torque wrench,
2) impact torx bit set that includes #27,
3) allen head bits set which includes a 3/8 size for the trans dip stick.,
4) 3/8 ratchet, and standard socket set with a short extension
5) 3/8 to 1/4 drive reducer bit because the #27 torx bit is 1/4" drive,
6) 11/16 offset box end wrench (clutch adjustment)
7) 1/2, 5/8, 9/16 combination open end/box end wrenches (or a set)
8) allen wrench set with the orange plastic handles (clutch adjustment)
9) service manual

You should be good to go

Yes, please go to Sears and buy good AMERICAN MADE tools. You might pay a little more, but you are getting good, quality tools and supporting your fellow AMERICAN workers.

I swear Wal-Mart is going to be the downfall of this country. IMHO
