Why should it be any more 'inevitable' just because you are riding a bike.....
You can be defensive and careful to up the odd's in your favor, but other things might be out of your control..

Unfortunately, as the use of cellphones, texting, and other driver distractions continue to increase every year, our chance of survival decreases.
While our legislators seem hellbent with protecting us from ourselves with seatbelts and helmets, they continue to do nothing to protect us from the morons that find their cellphone more important than someone else's life.

Basically, every motorcyclist is going to lay a bike down at some point, statistically speaking. That doesn't mean it is going to be an accident involving another vehicle.

I would consider 'dropping your bike' a rider caused accident....
But then again, maybe I just haven't been around that many riders that drop their bike on purpose.
