Default Does she like it dirty?

I haven't changed the tranny or primary oil in about 15000+ miles. I feel so neglectful but life just sorta got away from me. She runs great. Could it it be she likes it dirty? Or did I do some damage. Flame on if ya want..I deserve it.

Whatever happens you deserve it.

Preventative maintainence. Scheduled for a reason.

don't know about your 05, but my 07 manual says 10,000 on the primary, and 20,000 on the tranny.

so you're not as bad as you thought.

That makes me feel a better. She's on the lift draining as we speak. Not as dark as I thought either.

Whatever the manual says should be sufficient. Don't get **** and change it so often your bike is on the lift more than it's on the road...

I read somewhere that motor oil actually gets better with age. It does pick up impurities however. You probably did not hurt a thing. Kind of depends on what kind of riding you do. Back in the 70's, I was an electronics technician, and we used to drive Dodge vans about 40 to 50 thousand miles a year, mostly highway driving. We only changed oil twice a year and they seemed to run forever. We traded them off at 200 thousand, and never had a problem.

How long has it been? If you put on 15K in a year you're probably OK especially if you used synthetic. If it's been 3-4 years, I wish good luck.
