it is possible to move the rear brake to the right handlebar. when i was trying to set up my ride, i explored many possibilities. one was a dual lever setup on the right grip. this had shortened levers in a staggered position to allow one, with practice of course, to control both front and rear brake individually (with the index and middle fingers). the individual who had this setup was very nice and she and i spoke at length about what might be best for my needs. she admitted that this setup took much practice to get down, but she has been able to continue riding and has adapted well to this new setup. in the end, i went with linked brakes, but your friend might want to consider this.

peace, and my willingness to throw powder on any parts still stands.

Thanks Grimm. I agree that no matter what alternative setup, it will take some mind training. Another good option.

I know I told you before, but damn, I like your trike more everytime I see it. Got to be one of the coolest, bad-*** looking things I've seen on wheels. Those are some serious meats on that thing. Great job on your ride.

And thanks again for the powder offer. We're still dealing with the cover, so you never know.

My brother is a BTK on his left leg. Was going through a rough time after his divorce and bought the biggest bike he could find, a Hyabusa and on my 30th birthday of all days. He decides to ride it to an Eagles game got about 3 miles from his work and "got cut off" which knowing him means he just panicked being as he refused to take the saftey course. Caught a rode sign right above his ankle going off the road and shattered and took his leg off about 3 inches above the ankle. No saving it. Hell of a Bday present let me tell you. Tuff bastard put a tourniquet on himself and was cracking jokes about his shoe being up on the hill and could someone bring him his foot he needed the sock back lol. Had him ready to consider trying to ride a sportster we found a good deal on and getting an air shifter installed, then getting a trike in a few months but he just lost his job.

I'm waiting for the day when we can ride side by side finally. So good luck to your boy man. And may you both have your Knees in the Breeze as we used to say in Airborne on your bikes soon man.

The valve can be adjusted "on the fly" its a small dial that could be tastefully mounted. It is not something you could do in a panic situation, but if you had a couple extra seconds you could make the changes you need.

Thanks Taco for the info. We'll take all this information in and try to decide the most appropriate route to take.

I never really said to Bill that guys wanted to do this, but I have said to him that some guys wanted to visit when the weather turns or get a ride in with us when possible.

Bill said to me one time "If you would be able to, maybe you could bring both bikes to the home the day I get out of here so we could ride away from here." I know it doesnt have to be that way, but I know it would mean a lot to him to be able to leave that way. I know it would be something I would never forget. So yeah, it think it would blow him away to have some bikes show up to follow him out. I'll definitely keep this in mind and I'll watch the timing of things and if it looks like something can be set up, I'll get the information out as quickly as possible to see if we can pull it off. Thanks bird for wanting to be part of it.

Thanks ded. Yes, we are still in need of a cover. A couple things, I don't know for sure if the cover will fit, but I'm pretty sure they have not changed the dimensions of the derby. Can any one chime in and verify this for us?

Also, if it is a chrome one, I'll have you send it direclty to Grimm for powder to match the train motor.

And could I humbly ask if anyone would like to fund Grimm for the shipping to us after he powders it? I'm sure it would only be a couple bucks. Thank you. So if anyone would like to assist with this, please feel free to pm me or however you want to jump in and I will help keep things coordinated and everyone informed.
