Wow, didn't take long for this thread to turn into a HOG bashing thread. I think people get carried away with all the HOG rides are dangerous and unsafe talk. I've been on many rides with two different chapters and haven't seen this. Sure, there's the occasional new rider that someone needs to speak to but isn't that how they learn?

I was told by GEICO that they would not cover me on a test ride, but Progressive said that they will. Everyone should check with their insurance company BEFORE getting on for a test ride.

I went for a ride with the Rockville, MD HOG group and they all rode fine. I know that some HOG groups take new members out for a ride to evaluate their skills. I ride with a lot of HOG group members individually and have never had a problem. It seems like some people are always looking for someone or something to **** and moan about.

Not sure how it works in Missouri , but in Jersey you have to sign your life away to take a bike that belongs to the dealer for a ride. What that means is you accept any and all responsibility for any damage to the bike. On a rental you have to give them a credit card with a usable $2500 limit to cover any boo boo's. This way you can't return a $20k bike damaged and say Sorry, and walk away scott free. This could turn into a legal issue real fast. Now there's 2 bikes with damage, and I'm quite sure the dealer would be after you if you ran into there bike.,,
