Default Windshield Bug Removal Cheap and Easy

Don't remember where I read this or where I got it from, but it gets em off easy. [sm=smiley20.gif] I only use this on my windshield.

Take a towel and put it in a bucket and fill the bucket with HOT, SCALDING HOT, water.

Detach windshield and lay flat or leave on bike.

Lay scalding hot towel on windshield and pour remaining hot water from bucket onto towel. Try to lay towel flat and pat out air pockets. Usually pouring the water on takes care of this.

Wait a few minutes and rub the towel over the windshield and dry with soft cloth.

Go smash somemore bugs and repeat as necessary.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

If you use a good heavy coat of lemon pledge ahead of time, they just wipe right off with the next application.

No need for the hot towel.

How does that work in the rain. It sounds ok but does getting it wet effect it? Just wondering.

Goes on crystal clear.
No problems in rain. Water beads right off.
I use it on the shield on my helmet as well.

Learned it from a pilot i know.

They have lexan windshields in small planes as well.

We use pledge as well. Work great! Also good for shining up the bike too!

Even cheaper and easier...wet the towel with cold water and lay it over the shield without taking it off the bike. Let it sit for the time it would take to heat up the water...Wipe off all traces of the congealed bug carcasses.

Then you can put the pledge on.

I used to use pledge to make my bass boat shine, it is the best stuff in the world for that...I will try it on my windshield next time I wash my scoot!
