thanks everyone. i guess i should have been more specific though... im curious about the frame mostly, cause it kind of is a frankenstein bike so far. it was a gift from a few years back, so i dont have a bill of sale.

my question is you said you are on to your next project. is this one finished or did you just give up? i know there are many here that can take that and make it into a georgous peice of art, but for me its just a POS. no offense....
just my .02 cents

im giving up.... i found a nearly complete bike for a grand and i figured that was a better starting point for me. Ive been trying to save up the money for cases for a few years now, and its never happened. this way i would be riding sooner and for less.

since i have no extra time or money i just buy them ready to ride...lol plus i have a hard enough time with simple stuff. if the directions say it takes 30 mins, i put aside 3 hours. i'm usually right on...hehehe

looks like an fx frame could be aftermarket with no number. I had a mid 70's shovel fx and the frame looked pretty much the same.
