Default What should I offer?

Found a repo 81 XLH 1000 basket. The finance company is selling to the highest bidder and I'm wondering what to offer? Thanks for any help.

Depends on how much of a basket case. If it's all there and you like to tinker go 500.00 to 1,000.00. I wouldn't give much more than that for an old iron head Sporty that needs lots of work. Might be a fun project though.

Half the motor is in pieces and I don't know if anything is missing or what the motor will need.

Greetings,

I wouldn't go over $500...You're right it'd be a fun project, but no need to get silly about it.

From what the finance company said, I make a bid, then if someone else out bids me they call and give me a chance to out bid them. I was thinking $100. if they call and someone has out bid me i can always go up. I don't think there are to many people that keep up on these repo lots. Project is what I was thinking.

I use to have an 81 Ironhead. I would pay you to keep it out of my garage.

I did see on the neck where it said AMF. That did make me think for a minute, but I still think it would be a fun project. What was the big problems with the AMF bikes?

if you are going to bid, bid an odd number like 103.50. Everyone always bids in even increments. I'd try to stay under 400.00 though. Good Luck

Default amf

amf stands for adios mother f**ker and it was a truly happy day when i said goodbye to and traded my amf 1978 sportster 1000 custom for a brand new 1980 yamaha xs1100. It was trully a rolling abortion from not ever being able to adjust the carb correctly to the oil leaking all over my garage to having to be an olympic weightlifter to pull in the clutch. Ill say one thing for a while there i had the worlds's biggest left forearm. Do yourself a favor find another project like something after the amf years.

Save your money for a roller instead of a mystery package!
