Don't ride Halloween nite... too many pranksters out there causing mayhem. Too many kids runnin around and some of them unsupervised. Had two kids one nite around Halloween with what I thought was a rope across the road and as I come up on them the both appeared to pull it taught... joke was on me the rope was in two pieces!!! Real friggin funny... almost went down trying to stop and worse yet could't run fast enough to catch the little bastards!!
From: In the Pacific Northwest, a few hours east of Seattle.
Don't like riding at night on the interstate, especially east of the Mississippi River. The trucks all seem to come out at night and play games - there will be a solid line of semi's in the right lane, while 2 or 3 will be trying to pass them all in the left lane. Can't see **** in the road until it pops out from beneath the semi directly in front of you, and they're all moving between 70 and 80. The buffeting is huge. Takes the fun out of it.
I wouldn't mind night riding if I was alone on the road and it was clear and dry, but a crowded interstate at night is crazed. I find a hotel and aim for an early start next dawn.
OK that was dangerous of them and thank God you didn't put the bike down trying to avoid it. OK now that it's over, can I laugh my F-in *** off at the prank itself..... as long as no one got hurt of course...

yeah you can laugh... some friends of mine thought it was hilarious too!! Ohh well like I said I don't ride around that time of year at nite!!
I have a little anxiety about what’s going to happen when I hit my first critter at night……they come out of nowhere it seems and we have tons of them around these parts. I just hope that I roll over it and it doesn’t put me down. I’ve had several close calls already with hitting them.

Kids in my neighborhood were out doing that to cars a few weeks ago. Used an "invisible" rope in broad daylight. Cars would stop and wait for them to lay "it" back down. They would finally do it and the cars started moving again.
Gotta admit. It was pretty funny. At least they didnt' do it to make anyone stop short and were safe about their little prank.
At night. I will go the long way around to avoid known deer crossings. Until you hit a deer, you won't understand...
