Insurance Settlement?
In your experiences, how long has it taken to get an offer from our insurance company? This is my own insurance company, and while another party was involved, they were not caught so there is no money from that source coming forward.
If they dont total it the are going to have to order painted parts, and that is going to take between 6-12 weeks. It's going to be cold riding it home

still waiting. Accident happened a week ago Saturday. Progressive said they did not have a motorcycle specialist on until Monday. He had it towed to the dealer on Monday afternoon, tow driver drove to a town 75 miles away to pick it up, (the wrong town, it was in town) Delivered to dealer on Tuesday. He did not get over to look at it until Wednesday, he called me with basic information, and told me after I got the extras, (helmet, rainsuit, bag info to him he would call me back). I emailed pictures and info to him Thursday evening, no call on Friday. I tried to call him Friday evening, he was already gone for the day, also the weekend. Don't know if he will be there tomorrow since it is Columbus Day. I know he is busy, and I can't ride for a while, but it will be just that much longer until it will either be repaired or I can get another one.
I know, I know, I am being impatient, but really a call would not have been too much....

I also have progressive. I was hit on a Friday evening on my gold wing, called it in when I got home, not hurt. An adjuster called me on Saturday morning and took the bassic information and said he would turn it in to the motorcycle guy on Monday, he called me in the afternoon, said it was totaled, frame bent, asked for the info on my extras. Had a check on Friday. Good communication throughout the whole processes. Bought a Harley.

I did get a check after about two weeks. They cut another check to the dealer doing the work. Now I just have to wait for the tank from HD.

Get real clear with your insurance company that any hidden damage will be looked after on the same claim number. you might burn out a drive belt in 6 months because your drive line isnt quite strait etc. In Canada, we have one full year to bring hidden damage to the table!
