In the last post, you say "just check when everything is up to temp" What do you mean by that?

My tool box is almost exclusively Sears Craftsman. As someone else mentioned, watch for sales at Sears --- it seems like torques wrenches are on sale about every month or so.

For those who want to check out Harbor Freight, for the last few months, a number of motorcycle and car magazines have had coupons for 20% off a single item.

I have a Craftsmn inch pound-1/4 drive,Proto 5-70 lb.-3/8 drive and a Craftsman 20-150 lb. 1/2 drive.
Unless you have deep pockets or use these tools on a daily basis,Craftsman or HF should be fine IMO.

I don't make a living with my tools, so they don't get used every day. Most of the Harbor Frgt. tools work fine for me. I've also got the 3/8 drive HF torque wrench. For me at about 20 bucks, can't go wrong.

Got a Craftsmen. Paid 100 bucks for it. Works great. Never had any problems with it.

I have a 3/8" matco torque wrench and it say's in the little manual that comes with it that it does not have to be turned back to zero after every use. Is this something new?

I just bought a matco one on Ebay for $150 shipped to my door. Its a digital 3/8" drive and looks brand new. Sometimes you can find them in great condition for cheap on Ebay because thats an item that sometimes people need 1 time then they sell them. You can always have them calibrated if you are concerned about that. If you dont have any luck there, check your local pawn shops.

Just remember you need one for inch pounds, and one for foot pounds.

Just a carry over phrase from work. Whenever we take something apart, and it goes back together we always re-check bolts after its ran awhile.
