I think $5k is still on the high side. I'd go $4k to $4.5k, but that's probably about it. I looked at an '81 FXS w/ 27k miles on it about 4 years ago. Guy wanted $4500 for it, but would have probably taken $3800 - $4000 for it. Wish I had been in a better position then (financially) because I would have bought it. I'll get an old shovel some day.

what ever you are willing to pay for it. He can ask what ever he wants but getting that is a different story. Also you have to look around in one area of the country and might get 7,000 in other he might not be able to even sell it.
