If I buy a Genuine Harley Davidson Part, and get it installed by a Certified HD mechanic at an Official HD Shop, should the part not covered for duration of warranty.

I had HD heated grips installed 2 years ago and they don't work.

Was told they are not part of warranty as they were an add-on.

What the .......

I think that they must be installed at the time that the bike is purchasrd for them to be covered under the warranty. .................. I THINK?

Will is right. Warranty only extends to parts that were on the bike or installed as part of the original purchase.

Default Dragon Humping

Two points
1. better to be humped by the Dragon than bit( insert and verb) by the Dragon.

2. Thanks a lot, I am not a computer geek and it took me forever to figure out how to get the pic resized and put on sig. Now I gotta change it.

But that is funny,,,,never noticed now it's all I can see.

Oh - you mean I don't have a right to get the gas tank refilled when I run the original gas out either? No wonder they call them stealers. !!

The parts added at time of sale are put into the bikes history on the SWR that the dealer can pull up on the vehical information link on HD net, those are the parts covered by the extended warranty.
That said the heated grips have had problems and if you go to HD's customer service line you maybe able to get a good will warranty, remember though be nice and be truthful, and a lot of times they will be very willing to help you out.
