Springer Classic with a functional kick start and sprung solo seat. Loved mine.

You didn't look too close at my signature pic did you? What you want to see is exactly what I did to my bike. There are a couple of us that have made that change on here and we have replied to your post in the Dyna section. I say go for it, it's a fun project.

I was going to mention that but I was afraid people would start to wonder about my "orientation" if you know what I mean.

I'd buy a new Deuce. I'd consider a CVO Deuce if available.

The FXR was a major step forward, when compared to the shovel, it was reliable and somewhat vibration free , there were draw backs,as the frame was to low to the rear cylinder head for ease of removal.and gaskets were in need of changing every other year , was my experience.

I still own a 1987 FXLR whicn I recently restored, it is a sweet bike, no doubt, but I am sorry to say compared to my 2004 Springer FXSTSI, there is no comparison, for ride, handling and better reliability. the Springer is a far Superior Machine IMHO. The FXR had some nice looking models, which died when the Dyna's replaced them.

A good comparison performance wise is, I compare my 1380 Evo to a small block chevy, but my 88 TC is more like a chevy big block, they both perform, but very differently. Now bring back a FXLR with a 103 TC and you are talking R&R

I also agree the Bad Boy was trick, as was the XLCR

The Wide Glide, as it was before it was discontinued.
