Road King will give a smoother ride. The Springer has a more nostalgic look. You'll have to decide what's important to you. Either one will be a great bike.

I don't know anything about the ride of either Harley. No offense to RK riders, but if I had to choose between the two, I like the nostalgic look of the Springer Classic. I don't know about where you live, but around here I have never seen a Sp. Classic and it would be cool in my book to have something different. I would also make a decision based on ride and comfort. Would it be possible that a dealership in your area would have one of each to take out for a test run? That sure would help on making your decision. Good luck

When I was looking for a bike (my first HD) both of these bikes were on my final list. Since I couldn't buy both of them my decision came down to, a.) size (the RK fit me better), b.) ride (the RK is a touring model) c.) and my comfort riding with my wife (the suspension helped here).

Everytime a Springer Classic drives by me my eyes are still drawn to it....I just love the looks of this bike with a pair of fishtails, white walls and beach bars.

The fact that my RKC has an 'old school' look finally helped with my decision to buy it instead. Wish I could have one of each!

The only way that I could have one of each is if I was single.

RK Classic. I test drove it and the deluxe. I loved the RK; but I liked the stripped down look of the deluxe. I really, really like the look of the RK and it was smoother than my deluxe also. I don't know how the springer rides or handles

I bought my Springer Classic in March 05. I now have 16,000 miles on it...I have done two 10+ hours on it.....I love mine....smooth ride. If you like the old look and tons of stares from others, Springer Classic all the way. I haven't regretted my decision at all....now that the 07's have 6 spd....Classic baby all the way!

I really like both bikes. Both were in my final 4 choices of bikes to get. You are just going to have the make the decision on your own. You should be happy with either one you get. The Springer isn't as common.

I can recommend color choices. Springer Classic = Black. Road King CLassic = Blue and White two-tone.

I have ridden both, I have owned a Roadking, and my wife currently owns a Heritage Classic.

If you want the bike just for looks and some short riding, with a very infrequent two up trip the the Springer will fill the bill nicely. If you want to get out on the road and make some miles, the Roadking wins hands down.

In all aspects, the Roadking will out perform the Springer. The suspension is better, especially two up, the Roadking will do corners better, as it will not drag the floorboards near as soon, and the Roadking will have a bit more power because it is not using power to spin a couple of engine counterbalancers.

I know a lot of people disagree, and will argue that they have ridden their Softail many miles a day with no problems, and I will not argue that. My wife has ridden her's 500 and 600 miles a day a lot of times, but her ride is not as good and the handling and power are not as good.

We rode her's two up for 450 miles on day, and I will guarantee you that the Roadking is much better when you are double.

Regards,

Bill
