G'day. I got an '08 softy custom and am looking at changing the stock mirrors to kuryakyn scythe II. Wondering if anyone has some photos of these mirrors on a similar bike that they could post. Havent seen them on a bike or in any shops here down under. Only seen them on the net and they look pretty cool.
Cheers
Don't have any pics of them but had to replace some on an insurance job down at the shop a while back. If I were you I'd look around for some other mirrors. Like most Kury parts they are not very good quality at all.

The best mirrors I have seen are the HD Split Visions. They have a flat mirror section and a convex that gives you a 180% field of view.
I am not familiar with the style but a note of caution.
I was in a pretty bad MC accident early Nov. (pics are in my profile) and I had aftermarket mirrors...with a pretty aggressive, pointy design. Well thank goodness it was cold and I was wrapped in leather because I believe had it been warm weather the points on the mirrors woulda split me open !! They did slice my leather coat right in the belly area before they broke away.
Just a word of caution and awareness. I will never have sharpened mirrors again.
Make sure U read some of the threads and post on mirrors,,,, lately lot of members unhappy with the results after changing them.... complaints are they can't see very much with the really cool looking ones......
Just choose Ur replacements wisely so U wont loose Ur rear vision.......

Well, considering that I just broke the plastic stud of a HD fairing mirror by just tightening it to specs (25ft/lbs when HD recommends 20-30ft/lbs), I can't speak highly of their mirrors either. I have several Kuryakyn items on my bike and have nothing negative to say about them.
I just ordered a set of Kury Blind Spots mirrors and several people who have them in replacement of the HD fairing mirrors told me they're much higher quality than the plastic junk HD sells. Granted the HD fairing mirrors are only 60 bucks for the pair but it's still too much money for junk.
