We have many bikes in the neighborhood, but I just live by the easy putt out of the subdivision rule. No need to rev up the motor or blast down the alleys late at night. Just ease on by and all they hear is a low rumble.
i'm with screamer, SE's and SEII's are not that loud, especially if your taking it easy in and out of the neighborhood. If they don't like the sound of the SE's they really just don't like bike and are looking for something to rag on you about.
If you want some sound, check out the Wild Pigs. You can get em on Ebay, or I am a dealer for them as well. They have a nice rumble, but bark when you crack into them.
I moved to a new neighborhood last month, and came home around 11:15 one night. I felt a little guilty as I was the new guy on the block, and know that almost all of my neighbors have little kids ages 5 and under. I ran into my neighbor a day or two later, and asked him, if he heard me, figuring that he would comment... he said not at all, and not to worry. His kids are deep sleepers, and he thinks that it is the coolest sound to hear me drive off in the morning at 7am.
no problems here , have riders in the neighborhood one guy rides a ROYAL ENFIELD best $2500.00 bike u can buy for $5000.00 even had one guy stop me and tell how much he likes the sound of Harleys ..who cares what other people think ..buy what ever pipes u want your 're the one that has to listen to them the most ..
