The Motor Co. does not care about your resale...they care about selling more NEW bikes. They will always raise prices less than inflation according to the CEO. Over time this will keep the value proposition on new bikes...
I'm sure they are hurting our re-sale value right now. But I think it'll be a short term thing. Anyone wanting to sell their TC right after the 96", 6-speed came out might have a hard time. But once things settle down I don't see a problem.

Do you think that the 07 models coming standard with the 96" and the 6 speed will crush the values of the late model bikes? I realize the MOCO has to move forward with improvements, but I think they are chicken sh&t for doing these upgrades and basically leaving the list prices status quo. I think it will hammer resale value. I do not intend on selling anyway, but the big picture looks to me like they shi&t on their loyal followers. I am all for improvements, but they should have reflected it in the price to protect their own IMO. Who would ever buy a 05 or 06 with these upgrades out there for basically the same $$? [:@]
At first, I thought the resale would be quite a bit less, relative to what normally happens, because of the new 96". But first off, remember these '06s are still dang good motorcycles. All you have to do is hop on and hit it hard to find that out. Second, test ride one and see the difference in performance. From what I could tell in my admittedly short ride, I really didn't feel it, though I rode a different bike than what I ride now. Someone said it earlier, when the dust settles and things calm down, there won't be that much of a difference. I can almost guarantee though the stealers will try to play that angle up on trade-ins though.
