I have a 2000 road king EFI. when i turn the ignition on i have power to the coil till the fuel pumps shuts off. when i hit the start button the power should return but dosent. i have replace the relays and still no power to the coil unless i turn the ignition off and back on and thats only till the fuel pump shuts off. any sugestions?
I had a problem with the wires that go TO the coil. Not the plug wires, but the leads that go TO the coil. They were too loose and would intermitently get power. I just crimped them and they stuck better
Your post didn't indicate if you had power thru the starter when you hit the starter button. Does the engine actually turn over or do you lose power when you attempt to engage the starter?
Double check all of the connections starting from the battery on out to the coil. Check the battery too. Also, the ignition switch itself can be disassembled, and contacts cleaned. I recently had an intermittent problem with the switch. Once I cleaned the contacts all is good.
