i stand almost 6'5" i run mids with highway pegs, just cause i am to cheap to spend money on forwards and liek being able to whip my sporty around liek a toy LOL
Damn, dude....ya don' LOOK 6'5".....I'm a short 6'3" and on the softail look like a grasshopper come'n down the road unless hang'n my feet over the cruise arms....could'n imagine ride'n a sporty....good vid by the way, young'ns are a hoot!
NSC I dont know how you do that. Don't you eat your knees? I have factory fowards on the red mistress since it is a 883C. I realize that is not as forward as the after market ones. But I know that it would be uncomfortable to have anything less. I maybe tall for a girl but I am only 5'9". So how in the world can you ride a sporty with mids???
ONLY 5'9" , Liz ?......excellent.....ya carry it very well!!
I think i would want both...to give me a change of position on long trips...I like to stretch out my legs but i like the control of the mids.
I've been thinking about this a lot - but nobody has ever really heard of it. I have highway pegs and mids right now - but I'm seriously considering setting up both.
Would love to hear some feedback on the idea? Too Much welding?
I've been riding with forwards for so many years nothing else feels right...
Agreed. Swapped rides with my buddy who owned a Sportster with mid controls.
Once we stopped, he joked and told me I could keep his because he was keeping mine.
I asked him how the hell he could ride all bunched up.
Mine is a FXSTC and his was a 1987 1100 Sportster.
yo no quiero anything but forward controls.
I have ridden with my feet on the passenger pegs during the winter to help keep my legs warm from the engine heat blowing back.
I was so cold, I didn't care if it did look goofy.
I know this thred is two years old, but I rode a 2000 wide glide for 5+ years with forward controls, and I hated them children of unwed parants for 5 years. I was in the process of changing that bike to mid controls, and I only liked one piece having all the parts i needed to go to the mid controls, and i wrecked that bike. I will never have a forward control bike ever again.
